After flamenco, I stopped at this chocolateria down the street from the hotel I was staying in. I split a bag of churros and chocolate dipping sauce with my roommate Courtney.

They were pretty good, but very different from the churros I was expecting. When you think of churros, you usually think of dough sticks covered in cinnamon sugar, right? Well at least that’s what I think of because that’s how they are usually made in the States. These churros were just plain sticks of fried dough that didn’t really have flavor unless you dipped it in the hot chocolate sauce.

Fun Fact: The cinnamon sugar coating is only an American thing and traditional Spanish churros are plain and meant to be dipped in hot chocolate or café con leche (coffee with milk). Also churros are traditionally eaten during breakfast, not dessert like we do in the States. Huh.

But, we did get a lot of churros for a cheap price and the chocolate was rich. Definitely worth a try! Also, it’s open 24 hours everyday!

Those of you lucky enough to live in or near Indianapolis can see an original (and definitionally temporary*) fingerprint graphite work created by Braunn at the Indianapolis Museum of Art as part of GRAPHITE, a show curated by none other than my wife.

It’s really encouraging to see good contemporary art getting >100,000 notes on tumblr, particularly because everyone is always telling me that no one is interested in contemporary art.

This is incredible. I wish I could see the original.
